THE ORIGIN STORY

Why I Built The Immortal Male Project

COACH MATT O'BRIEN • FOUNDER, LEGACY CEO COACHING

Why do so many successful men lose their health at the exact moment their leadership matters most?

— THE BEGINNING

Leadership demands physical discipline

My journey started at the United States Air Force Academy — a biology degree, then service as a Medical Service Corps Officer. The military taught me something I've never forgotten: when lives depend on you, energy, clarity, and resilience are not optional. They are part of the mission.

— THE CORPORATE WORLD

Success at the cost of the body

After the Air Force I moved into the corporate world — first as Operations Manager at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where I worked alongside world leaders, philanthropists, and heads of state.

Then as Regional Manager at Mortgage Investors Corporation, directing multi-state sales teams under relentless performance pressure.

What struck me in both environments wasn't the success of the people around me. It was the cost of it. The most accomplished men and women I worked with were physically running on fumes.

Relentless schedules. Travel. Pressure. Responsibility. Health had quietly become collateral damage.

— THE TURNING POINT

Health isn't separate from leadership

While living in New York I started training a few people on the side. What happened next changed the direction of my life. Executives who had been exhausted for years suddenly had energy. Leaders who had been burning out began showing up stronger in their businesses and families.

Within 18 months I realized:

Health wasn't separate from leadership. It was the foundation of it. So I left the corporate path and committed fully to coaching. That was more than 25 years ago.

— THE PATTERN

Their most important years. Their worst health.

Over 25,000 coaching hours, one pattern became impossible to ignore. The most successful men I worked with — men in their 40s and early 50s who had built thriving companies and provided for their families — were physically breaking down.

Weight gain. Fatigue. Declining strength. Low testosterone. Metabolic disease. And the quiet tragedy underneath all of it: they still had their most important leadership years ahead of them. But their bodies were no longer equipped to carry the mission.

Business has a playbook. Leadership has a playbook. Longevity for high-performing men? Almost nothing.

— THE MISSION

A performance system for leaders

The Immortal Male Project was built to fill that gap. Not a fitness program. A clinically integrated performance system designed specifically for the physiology, schedule, and demands of the high-performing man over 40.

The mission is simple: help thousands of high-performing men reclaim their health so they can continue leading their families, businesses, and communities with strength and vitality. Because when strong men lead long enough — everyone wins.

Leadership isn't a sprint. It's a multi-decade mission. And the men who change the world are the ones who stay strong enough to finish it.

— THE IMMORTAL MALE PROJECT —

Built for men who refuse to decline

If you're a high-performing man who refuses to accept physical decline as the price of success — this program was built for you.

ABOUT

Meet Coach Matt O'Brien

Matt O'Brien is a functional health strategist, performance coach, and founder of Legacy CEO Coaching and The Immortal Male Project — a program dedicated to helping high-performing men over 40 reclaim their strength, energy, and longevity.

His philosophy is simple:

Your body is the engine of your leadership. If the engine fails, the mission fails.

Matt's foundation in leadership was built at the United States Air Force Academy, where he earned a B.S. in Biology before serving as a Medical Service Corps Officer managing healthcare operations and multimillion-dollar budgets.

After the military he led operations at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and directed multi-state sales teams as Regional Manager at Mortgage Investors Corporation.

These roles gave him firsthand understanding of the pressure, pace, and responsibility that define executive life — perspective that now sits at the core of how he coaches.

Since 1998, Matt has accumulated over 25,000 hours of coaching experience helping entrepreneurs, executives, physicians, and athletes improve body composition, restore energy, and build sustainable health.

He is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and the author of The Magic Pill: Your Prescription for a Longer, Healthier, and Happier Life.

Over 25 years of coaching, Matt noticed the same pattern: successful men who had built thriving careers had let their health quietly deteriorate along the way.

Weight gain. Declining energy. Loss of strength. Metabolic disease.

The Immortal Male Project was built to reverse that trajectory — and to help men remain strong, vital, and capable of leading for decades to come.

The goal is not simply longevity. It is strength, vitality, and leadership for life.

Matt lives in Florida with his wife Hollie and their two sons.
